Emerson Smith (Annapolis) made the trip up to Maine last weekend for the Lobster Sup Cup. The competition was some of the strongest on the East Coast and Emerson did awesome. I am thinking we need to get a big group of Maryland Paddlers to head up there next year???
Here is what Emerson had to say
“I was up in Maine this past weekend for the Lobster Sup Cup. Ended up finishing in 7th (Terry Kent, who won dawn’s first race, finished 4th). I HIGHLY recommend this race for people looking for longer distances. We had flatwater conditions and did a 10.5 miler on Saturday and a 11.5 miler on Sunday. The competition is great and the people are awesome. The scenery is unlike anything you get around here.
It is definitely on my must do list for next year as well.
Cyril Burguire – 3:37:21 – Boardworks rider from Canada
Bill Kraft – 3:45:35 – Boga rider from USVI
Patrick Broemmel – 3:48:13 – Banh Pho Surfboards owner from the Cape
Terry Kent – 3:48:19
Travis Hayes – 3:53:0
7th – Emerson Smith – 3:59:18
The times are combined for Saturday and Sunday (22 miles total). Cyril was one of the fastest paddlers i have been around. He absolutely dominated. I was pretty happy to be under 4 hours total time and put down some of the best mile splits that I have ever paddled.”
